In the year 2001 I was introduced to Nonviolent Communication by a dear friend who helped me see that I was disconnected from my needs. I worked in a Clinical Laboratory and had an excellent mind for analyzing, judging and comparing which served me well for the clinical work but did not serve me in my relationship with my self. I became aware that I was often meeting other people's needs at my own expense, this was the turning point for me, My journey with NVC awareness took momentum when I met Marshall Rosenberg in 2001, I knew then I had found a language and process that was supportive in connecting my head and heart.
I practiced NVC in my life and found how much more enjoyable life is and I changed the phrase "I will be happy when." I found a way of living in the present and put my attention on becoming a certified trainer with the International Centre for Nonviolent Communication. I obtained Certification in 2004.
The focus of my work is to create an environment in which there is a quality of connection in which everyone's needs are valued and we find ways in meeting our needs peacefully and with joy.
Through the work I did with Lucy Leu and Judi Morin I became interested in working at a men's prison and found this work extremely useful for practicing empathy in difficult situations and to separate the behavior from the human being. Over the past few years I have shared NVC through coaching, mediation and teaching with couples, youth, and individuals and made numerous presentations for organizations.
I believe in the Power of Heart Connection to create Universal Success.
